Shakira is making the roadies scrub the stage hard so that she can go barefoot on the stage.

The singer, who is currently on the European leg of her ‘Oral Fixation Tour’, prefers to shake around the stage with no shoes on and insists the floor be spotlessly clean. “It’s got to be clean otherwise I can’t go on” says the singer. Hmm… I guess it’s not a good idea to go barefoot on the stage especially when performing in a cold continent!!!

Shakira thinks her Oral Fixation has made her long for home. The Latina pop star is fed-up of the cold continent Europe which she has to tolerate during her tour Oral Fixation.

The celebrity says it is not the difference in culture but the freezing winter that she can’t take in the foreign continent of Europe. She says, “It is fantastic to connect with so many people on this tour. I’ve learned so much about this continent and its people but it is freezing. I do expect to have a lot of fun on stage though, just like I did last night.” Her first performance was on Thursday night in Hamburg, Germany.

This is not the first time we hear Beyonce Knowles go ga ga over Colombia’s golden girl Shakira. She was initially very fond of Shakira and she has got more fond of her eversince the two worked on Beyonce’s forthcoming single ‘Beautiful Liar’.

“I have always loved her and I have always wanted to work with her and the song fits perfectly.It basically talks about two women - the same guy is trying to get at both of them but instead of them fighting, they are saying, ‘He’s a beautiful liar, let’s not fight, let’s stick together. Forget him!’ I think it’s a great concept,” Beyonce was quoted as saying by a source.

The concept is certainly good… and what a treat will it be to watch these two beautiful women set the screen on fire.

Lebanese-Colombian pop-sensation Shakira is gonna perform live in concert presented by Playstation 3 in Dubai on March 23rd 2007 at the Dubai Autodrome.

The sponsors expect the tickets to be sold like hot-cakes considering Shakira, is the best selling artist in Middle East with her Arabian roots.

And Shakira is equally excited about her tour to Dubai, “I have heard a lot about Dubai and performing in the Middle East for the first time will be something special. The Dubai show will be one of the biggest shows on my 2007 “Oral Fixation Tour”.

I’m sure this show will be a great success like all her Oral Fixation Concerts in Latin America… And she will give all the belly dancers in Dubai a run for their money.

Shakira is the brightest star out there in current pop-charts and she hasn’t got carried away like the Hiltons, Spears and the Lohan’s there. So how does she manage to keep herself in check.

She says, “I try to build my own boundaries. My boundaries are my family. They contain me. They are my ground. That’s why it’s so important for me to take them on the road and travel with them. They always remind me how vulnerable and clumsy I am, and how many mistakes I can make, because that’s what they love to do. Parents always like to remind you about the important things in life. They’re always trying too hard to make a good person out of you.”

A Shakira look-alike and sing-alike has been creating waves at America’s favourite reality show American Idol.

She hails from Columbia, coincidently. She sang Blondie’s Call Me at the beginning but the judges weren’t very impressed. And out of something, Randy asked her to sing Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie”…and she imitated that very well.

She said she had almost chosen that song but the fear of being compared to Shakira and lacking originality. But I guess she more or less tries to emulate Shakira in every way… even her blonde tresses reveal that.

Columbia’s Golden Girl Shakira has proven herself as a singer, songwriter and performer par exellence. As we wondered, what or who is Shakira’s muse as a songwriter she revealed,

“Shakira: I always felt a calling. Like there was some invisible hand behind me pushing me to write, dance, do things. When I was a child, I had the illusion of becoming a scientist, a writer, and a dancer. All three things combined! I remember doing my first poems at the age of four on everything that would surround me. I wrote one to my mom. It was called “The Rose of Crystal.” It was full of fantasy and daydreams. But I didn’t feel clearly that I wanted to be a musician. I started writing my first songs when I was 8 years old. I think my career as a songwriter started my career as a singer.”

Songwriter or Singer… Shakira is just unbeatable!

We all know who Shakira is… but lets ask Shakira as to who is this woman called Shakira and what does she think of her.

“Sometimes I feel that Shakira is an old woman trapped in the body of a 24-year-old girl. Sometimes I feel that there’s a baby inside me that hasn’t grown up yet. So Shakira can be a very confusing character!”

She seems to be full on energy, but when asked why she feels like an old woman inside, Shakira says,

“Sometimes I feel full of theories. I don’t necessarily go through the experience of something, because I’ve already decided what the results are going to be. I don’t go out too much at night. I don’t visit too many clubs. I like to go out sometimes and just observe how people behave. When I was 15 years old I preferred dancing to watching. Now I’m on the other side.”
