Shakira has proved her worth as a singer and a performer by sweeping the Latin Grammys…but I really think the woman is kinda getting monotonous now.

Her songs are nevertheless alright but her belly-dancing stuff and her snake-live grooves are getting a bit too monotonous. Especially after you see her do the same thing again and again in every performance.

She is a great talent, a superb singer and an entertaining performer…I’m sure she would be definitely able to come up with great stuff…provided she thinks out of the box now…its high time!

Shakira has shaken her hips and squeezed into our hearts for sure… her looks, her groovy moves made my heart go pit pat at least!!!! N trust me, coz I identify with her as when I say that…

Alright, I just meant to say that I, like her hips, DON”T LIE

But every good force needs to be strongly channellized in order to reach its target… and Shakira’s in-comprehendible lyrics had to be driven into every home to drive her to success!!!!

One such force which helped her as an entrant into the industry was 3, the mobile media company… it was her videos which flashed on every multimedia mobile handset and 3 was more or less responsible for that! And it’s not just her… 3 has already been instrumental in helping artists such as Chamillionaire, Gnarls Barklay and James Blunt too feature in the list of celebs who got famous with the help of 3…

Time you gave them some credit Shakira…

Shakira has been winning it big nowadays… after those 4 Grammies, she’s been painting the town red!!! And more than anything, it’s her talk to the media about her personality and why she’s Shakira and not anyone else….

The best part was when she retorted out loud saying that she is NOT Britney Spears… “My videos represent the artist in me very well, but not the kind of woman I am.” Says Shakira…

The Latino babe also added that being blonde and having a guy is the only similarity between her Spears… also adding in that though her videos seem raunchy and erotic, she simply doesn’t want to expose more than her belly in them… “I admire people who can do nudes for the love of art,” says Shakira “But I can’t.” says Shakira. And the reason she gives is that her mom has advised her not to show any more than her waist…

Though the ‘Momma’s baby’ part is arguable, we still love Shakira for whatever she is… after all, it’s not just her HIPS that DON’T LIE

Whoa! She looks like a flamboyant character straight out of a mythic Indian Kama Sutra in these pictures. These pictures are dated August 31, 2006 when the Columbian crooner Shakira performed her hit number Hips Dont Lie (featuring Wyclef Jean) at MTV Video Music Awards in New York.

She appeared on stage in a flagrant fuchsia satin ensemble with Indian-style gold embroidery and elaborate Indian style jewellery hanging down her waist. She also wore a piece of jewellery in her hair that hung down on her forehead adding to her look of an Indian gypsy dancer and not forgetting the blood red henna that adorned her hands!

The Grammy winner’s unrivalled curve-appeal made the crowd go beserk when the gyrating, belly-swivelling eye candy performed her hit single ‘hips dont lie’ with Wyclef Jean.

Didnt I tell you guys…This gal is a complete performer!

Well I’m just talking about New York city… and the sad news is that even after delivering chart buster after chart buster no pop singer, including Shakira, could get into the top ten names of the year… the parents still chose names for their boys from the Bible and girls from the usual familiar girlie names list…

So while the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ babe had just 141 girls names behind her, the name ‘Emily’ ruled the roost with 566 kids!!! Buck up guys… Shakira isn’t all that uncool a name too!

You read that right guys… in a recent survey with a wide range of guys, she was the most desired of the lot… When asked as to whom would the guys want to go out on a date with, the name most taken was — SHAKIRA!

In the midst of grammy nominations Shakira has managed to grace her shelves with some more accolades.Colombian pop diva Shakira won in five categories at Premios Oye!, a Mexican music award ceremony.

Shakira, who is playing a series of concerts in Mexico, won best album for Oral Fixation Volume 2. She also won, song of the year in Spanish for Las caderas no mienten and song in the year in English for Hips Don’t Lie best video and a special award for song writing in her song Dia de enero.

All that we can say is that ..’ WHENEVER she does something and WHEREVER she goes… she’s got the POWER..Any doubts !

Shakira is currently reigning over the download charts.Shakira has raced back to the top spot in the downloads chart, as Hips Don’t Lie knocked SexyBack by Justin Timberlake down to number two.The biggest mover in the top five was I Don’t Feel Like Dancing by the Scissor Sisters, who might feel like dancing now, as they climbed from 24 to four.

Nelly Furtado showed she’s still got what it takes, as Promiscuous jumped from 17 to six. But Lily Allen’s Smile fell out of the top 10, falling to 14.

Let’s just hope that this lucky spell continues for a long time!

Will she ever be pushed outta off the U.K Charts????I really don’t think so.The Columbian sensation still dominates the U.K charts..for the third week in a row.

Her collabaration with rapper Wyclef Jean has had the Britons asking for more,more and more..Hell,even I am hooked and am really not into latin stuff,but in her case I need to make an exception…Her U.K Charts odyssey as seen her stave off competition from Cascada and Christina Aguilera…Really tough competition if you ask me..

Anyway here are the top 3 at the U.K charts..

Razorlight are keeping their No. 1 crown on the U.K. album chart .

Yesterday with their self-titled, second set for Vertigo, “H/Universal ips Don’t Lie” (Epic) by Shakira featuring Wyclef Jean had achieved the rare situation of returning to the top of the British singles chart.

The Shakira track is now in its eighth week on the survey, and is also on the top in its fourth week. “Hips” now has a chart history of 54-3-2-1-2-2-3-1.
It also fends off the challenge of Christina Aguilera’s “Ain’t No Other Man”, which opened on download sales at No. 18 last week and now climbs to No.2 after its full release.
