Pop superstar Shakira is going to sing for the freedom of the hostages held by a Colombian rebel group, when she will perform in her birth country on 20th July.

The singer met with released FARC hostage Ingrid Betancourt- ex Colombian presidential candidate to raise awareness about the hostage’s plight.

Shakira is going to accompany Colombian pop star Carlos Vives for the Independence Day show.

The event is organized to pressurize the terrorist group FARC to release its 700 hostages.

Sharika is rocking all the charts with her latest album with Beyonce.

Beyonce and Shakira’s Beautiful Liar had topped the VMA nominations and now it is up for a Latin Grammy.

It has been nominated in the category of Record of the Year

This is not the first time shakira’s album has done great, all her songs are a huge hit and this one is really working Magic for her.

Shakira has stepped into Bollywood!

Shakira will be recording the duet ‘King and Queen’ with composer Aadesh Srivastava.

She will record a song for the famous Bollywood Composer. The track is ready and Wyclef and Shakira will be doing the prime vocals and Aadesh Srivastava will add some raga-classical intonations in the track.

‘King and Queen’ is the first track which has an Indian singer and two American pop artists.

Well, lets see if the ‘hips don’t lie’ star creates the same magic in Bollywood as she has done in Hollywood.

Shakira is all set to do a duet song with singer Pedro Aznar for the movie EL Amor En Los Tiempos De Colera (love in The time Of Cholera).

The movie is all about the writings of the Columbian author Gabriel Garcia Marquez who is also a close friend of Shakira.

The recording will take place in London and the premiere of the film will be held in Italy at the Venice film festival, in the end of August.

Just as shakira’s previous numbers, Let’s hope this number also will be a great hit.

Shakira is all set to marry fiancé Antonio de la Rua to whom she was engaged for six years.

A news paper report claims that Shakira has asked her fiancé Antonio de la Rua to sign a pre-nuptial agreement before they get married.

She has stated that she is very eager to become a mother.

The couple would be getting married in September in a very high profile manner in a mansion in Punta Cana in Dominican Republic.

It was announced in Friday the 22nd that Shakira has joined the star studded line up at the Live Earth’ Hamburg show which will be on the 7th July. ”Live Earth is about engaging a mass movement of people to take action against the climate crisis,” Live Earth Founder and Producer Kevin Wall said. “The addition of internationally popular music acts like Shakira will help us reach millions of people across the globe.”

The show is believed to be a 2 billion people get together which will be at New York, London, Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg and Hamburg.

Shakira and Penelope Cruz have been spotted together many a times now. And chances are thick that Cruz might end up being the bridesmaid at Shakira and her long time boyfriend Antonio De La Rua’s wedding.

According to the report, “the wedding is believed to be taking place at Shakira’s luxury mansion in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.” De La Rua is a practicing lawyer and son of a former Argentine president. Ah Happy times!

The second edition of THISDAY Music Festival is here in Lagos and Shakira has confirmed to perform on July 14 and 15th. The centre has a seating capacity of 15,000. Beyonce, Jay Z, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Ciara, En Vogue and Missy Elliot graced the first edition of the festival and it was considered an immense success in the World History of Music.
